Weber Power Plate

Weber Power Plates, for Holley 2300, 4150, 4500 Series and Demon carburetors were developed to bring the functionality, adjust-ability and metering characteristics of Weber's racing IDA and DCOEs to Holley carburetors improving throttle response, torque and horsepower while providing external access to critical tuning and metering elements.

Weber Power Plates utilize either Weber jets and air correctors or Holley jets and 10x32, 8x32 and 6x32 restrictions and Weber emulsion tubes.

Weber Power Plates lengthen each end of the carburetor by 1/2" and the carburetor overall by 1".

This graph illustrates an AFR trace generated by O2 sensors on a 406 SBC bracket engine running a highly tuned 850 (1000) Race Demon.  The Race Demon equipped with Demon metering blocks - Holley metering circuitry as found in ALL Holley and Demon carburetors and aftermarket billet metering blocks, but for one exception.

The exception is TMP Carbs' Weber Power Plates.  This graph illustrates the superior fuel metering of the racing Weber IDA's metering circuitry utilized by the Weber Power Plates in combination with the specific carburetor design employed by TMP Carbs.

The heart of the racing Weber IDA and Weber Power Plate's metering circuitry is the emulsion tube which discharges emulsion air radially, 360* around the emulsion tube into the emulsion well.  There are more than a dozen predetermined emulsion values, but only a small number are typically used on V-8 engines.  TMP Carbs determines or can make recommendations for your application.

TMP Carbs prepares the emulsion tube for 10x32 main air correctors (high speed air bleeds), the idle air corrector / idle jet holder for replaceable 8x32 idle air correctors (idle air bleeds) and the idle jet for replaceable 6x32 idle jets.

Holley style emulsion well discharges emulsion air into the emulsion well from a column of bleeds allowing air bubbles to merge reducing their numbers and increasing their size.  This reduces homogeneity of the air / fuel emulsion producing the spikes in the air / fuel ratio traces shown in the graph above.

Weber emulsion tubes discharges emulsion air from around the full 360 degrees of it's radius from 12 - 20 discharge bleed holes.  This greatly reduces merging of air bubbles and greatly increases homogeneity of the air / fuel emulsion.  The second graph above illustrates the air / fuel traces produced by the Weber Power Plates with Weber metering circuitry.

Check out this video showing just how quick and easy changing jets and air correctors (high speed air bleeds) are with Weber Power Plates with Weber jets, air correctors and emulsion tubes.  Changing jets and air correctors (hsab) is only slightly longer when the Weber Power Plates are modified to utilize Holley jets, 10x32, 9x32 and 6x32 restrictions:

"Trimming bleeds" in the stock Holley 'high speed' and "idle air bleed" positions can be used as another tuning element with TMP Carbs' Weber Power Plates.
